I have yet to see a cardiologist but had 2 EKGs that suggested Left Anterior Fascicular Block. "Abnormal QRS in an aVF lead" it said.
I got put on clonidine for blood pressure and kept on getting heart palpitations, sudden bouts of extreme fatigue, and lightheadedness. My work has a fancy blood pressure machine that detects arrhythmias. I got 7 arrhythmia warnings in 2 weeks so I got an EKG done, they think I have LAFB, and that the clonidine was making it worse.
Got off the clonidine and I feel better but my resting heart rate went back up to 100 - 110bpm. Still get palpitations.
Tried Atenolol but that TANKED my heart rate to low 60s even on just 12.5mg dose. Kidney function is great, so can't be that.
Is it proven that beta blockers and/or clonidine make fascicular blocks worse? What's the differential diagnosis for LAFB?
