Has anyone been on a Wilderness Inquiry Trip alone with a group ?

I haven't really travel in my life but I sign up on this email list of the Wilderness Inquiry Trip. As I explore the opportunity they offered, I didn't know you can go alone. My question is, how is going alone with a bunch of strangers? I see that if you go alone you are match with someone else that is also a solo traveler when it comes to lodging with a stranger ?
