Which discipline of empirical science is most driven towards the reduction of human suffering in the broadest sense?
Post Body
Serious answers only, please and thank you.
Edit to clarify: By "human suffering in the broadest sense," I mean physically, psychologically, economically, etc. The big picture of human suffering. Does such a discipline exist, or do we rely on a bunch of disparate disciplines in the hopes of achieving the singular goal of improving the lives of people?
