Hello Ashevillians! Recently Funked_Up and I were brainstorming some re-occurring events that we could do as a sub-reddit. Here's what we came up with and we are totally down for any and all of these activities. If you have other ideas or feedback on the ones listed that would be great! Let us know what you think!

• Bowling League – We usually go to SkyLanes on Patton Avenue because it’s close and cheap. Definitely not a classy place though. Funked_Up called about leagues and the next round starts in April! Even a regular non-league outing would be fun, especially with Tuesdays having $2 games, $2 shoes, and $1.50 Natty Lights. There is also an AMF bowling alley in East Asheville that we can call and inquire as well.

• Team Trivia - We currently go semi regularly to trivia Fridays at Westville Pub. It can fill up fast there an probably isn't conductive to lots of people. Fortunately there a lots of other weekly trivia events to pick from around town. Let's get a team together and kick some ass!

• Kickball League – Funked_Up, Tylercap and I played in a kickball league last year and it was pretty awesome! There is not any information posted yet but it starts in April and games are weekly on either Tuesday or Thursday. Cost is $25 per person or $200 per team. 10 people on the field at a time so it would be great to have 12-15 people total. There are around 8-10 games per season and you get a team t-shirt to keep.

• Poker Nights – This was discussed at the last Reddit meetup! Funked_up and I have plenty of chips and cards and can host the first one. We only have enough space for 6-8 people though. We can do nickle, dime, quarter games, or a simple flat buy-in for a bunch of chips, whatever everyone is comfortable with. If there is a lot of interest maybe someone with more space can volunteer to host.

• Disc Golf – Perhaps we can get a regular disc golf outing together once the weather is consistently warm! We have five or six discs if people want to play but don’t have any. There are a couple introductory courses in Asheville as well as upper-level so we could start out easy and work our way up!

• Super Bowl Party – Knowing that this is a) Reddit and b) Asheville, interest in this particular subject might be low. However, Funked_up and I have thrown around the idea of having a party at our house Sunday February 5th for the Super Bowl and want to know if people would be interested in coming over for the game. Cheaper than going out to the bar and way cooler people to hang out with! We’ll do it up right with food, beers and some friendly wagering! Non- fans who just want to hang out are welcome, too! This could be our February meetup if people are interested.

We are also open to more suggestions of activities and monthly meetup spots. This past year we did the Wedge, Bywater, bowling, Thirsty Monk, camping at Black Balsam, Asheville Brewing Company, Botanical Gardens, a waterfall hike, a cookout at Carrier Park … holy shit, we did a lot this year!
