Like the title suggests. I have several cousins that ended up in Fema trailers in Louisiana after gyrricanes. As miserable as they seemed, they saved them.
I know the cancer issue with them 10 or 15 years ago, but I'd think they would have improved that and in my opinion anything would be better than a tent. I'd also think the hotel would be very inconvenient because of how far spread out these people are from most hotels. having to commute to a hotel back to your property for cleanup and rebuilding. Besides I assume hotels only last so long. where as atleast the FEMA trailer could be there as long as you need it I think.
I thought I'd heard about some family's getting them. but my cousin who lives in veteran housing at a motel turned apartments from a charitable organization not far from the VA, he lost his place and said FEMA is using the hotel model instead and all the guys that were permanent residents there like him are being put up in a motel or at other places like the fairgrounds or ab tech. Idk if they are still there but the place they were living out has to be rebuilt I believe.
So I'm wondering if anyone knows of people getting FEMA trailers.
Also just as a discussion, what are your thoughts on getting a FEMA trailer? Do you think FEMA trailers would be better than a hotel?
