I’d like to start by saying that if you’re reading this, I hope you’re safe and well. Our community has been through a lot in the aftermath of Helene, and I know the storm has impacted each of us in one way or another. Even before Helene, we were considering launching a survival course focused on preparedness. Given the recent discussions we’ve all had, we’ve decided to move forward with bringing this course to life.
To shape the course to best serve our community, we’re looking to gauge the level of interest here. The course, led by myself, Kevin Dylus, and other skilled instructors—including communication specialists—will cover essential survival topics. These include food and water considerations, alternative communication methods (especially relevant after we experienced complete communication loss during and after the storm), and on-foot and vehicle readiness.
I know the subject of firearms and our presence has sparked some debate in this group. My goal here is to foster a constructive conversation around survival and preparedness and to understand whether there’s interest in this community for a course like this. If there’s a specific topic you’d like covered in this course, please share it in the comments.
Again, I hope that you are all doing well, and I look forward to having some great discussions!
