Whenever I have the time and means to do so, I take the bus around town. The other day, I wanted to hop on around 7 AM and transfer at the station. If I had taken the bus, I would’ve been waiting at the station for 30 minutes.
To me, the only thing that would’ve made that wait better is if I was able to get something for a quick breakfast… which led to my surprise that there’s nothing downtown that does that.
It’s wild how much that one Hot Spot on Hilliard truly was the perfect convenience store location to walk to: near the bus station, Rabbit Rabbit, breweries, schools, residences, etc. I don’t expect the Hot Spot to come back by any means, but I do feel like if we want to keep downtown from being completely consumed by tourist traps and keep it an actual downtown where people hang out and work, then we need easy places to eat.
