We are having a crazy situation with "zombie bees". These bees are infected with a parasite that makes them active at night and attracted to lights. After that they usually die pretty quickly and I will find them dead underneath the light within a few hours or the next day. If I leave a light on at night, they will be on it within minutes. They swarm at my headlights when I pull out of the driveway at night. I have had to remove the light bulbs from my garage door openers. I saw some last year, too, but never this many. Wondering if the numbers are up in the area or if I live next to a big infected hive? I don't see an unusual amount of bees during the day. Have you seen them?
