Asheville Driving Rules-what do we actually think is acceptable?
Post Body

We have so many car accidents and general questionable driving that half the time I wonder if what I think is me driving well is actually me contributing to the crap show that is Asheville roads. I want to hear what other people think is okay so I can fix any problems I might be perpetuating.

  1. Speed limit 55 mph on 26 from exit 31 towards Arden where there’s all the road work-what speed/rules?

  2. Speed limit 55 mph on 240 throughout-same question

  3. When it’s raining-acceptable fast and slow lane speed/rules

  4. Rules for Patton/Hendersonville Road where it’s busy traffic with all the stores/restaurants off of it

  5. Your general highway and city wide diving expectations.

In general my main thing that bothers me is people not using their blinkers and not letting people merge into the highway from entrance ramps.

Bonus on if you can clarify if people trying to merge into bad traffic at the last moment is an issue or not, I’ve heard that while it feels frustrating that it actually helps the congestion (I am not one of these people I just want to know if I’m allowed to be annoyed or not 😅)
