So I saw the thread the other day about Ingles price gouging, and several people said to go to Food Lion instead.
We live right by Enka Middle School so Ingles and Food Lion are the only real convenient options. I'll probably give Aldi on Patton a try, but even then it's considerably less convenient. Going all the way across town for Publix or whole foods on a regular basis is just not happening.
Anywho, thought I'd give Food Lion a try this morning, and I have no clue what Y'all were talking about saying it was cheaper than ingles. Any of the normal branded snacks or frozen food is either the same price or notably more expensive. Branded paper towels even on sale were $1-2 more. Frozen pizzas or chicken on sale are both more expensive. Hershey kisses and nutrigrain bars which are my typical snack foods are both more expensive, even on sale.
So I'll try Aldi and see if it's at all cheaper, but having to drive all the way down smokey park/Patton vs across the street doesn't really seem worth it to me. Not to mention no self checkout.
Sorry folks, end rant.
