I know, I know, not another "What to do post?" This one is a little different, though. I have lived in Asheville for three years, my family will be in town this weekend, and I cannot think of much to do that isn't beer, food or music oriented. These things are wonderful generally but don't bode well for more than a day's worth of activities if I can't stay out late or take my 12-year-old brother.
Help me compile some stuff for the FAQ that isn't food/beer/music (or theater based, we have those listed in the FAQ as well). A couple ideas I have so far (some of which I didn't even know existed until googling):
The Antique Car Museum At/near the Grove Park Inn.
Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley. Open April - Dec
Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute Past Brevard, about an hour from Asheville.
Fun Depot clearly.
Tarwheels Skating Rink right??
The Health Adventure near Biltmore Mall. Which is curiously not really near the Biltmore.
Blue Ridge Roller Girls Roller Derby March - Nov
Asheville Tourists Minor League Baseball Team. April - September-ish
Fired Up! Creative Lounge - make your own pottery, glass fusing and more. Downtown.
Any feedback on these additions would be appreciated - are they lame/still in business/seasonal? Also check out the FAQ before posting to make sure it's not already there. Any help would be awesome, not just for me but for others who might be struggling to come up with fun stuff as well!
