Just had this happen to me. I'm not sure if it counts as Ace-phobia but it certainly annoyed me.
An allo woman reaches out to me on a dating site, saying "I'm really intrigued that you're Ace. I've never been with an Ace person but that's really interesting." So I began chatting back, we talk about dating stuff, and there's good vibes. But almost immediately, we begin to enter a circle of repeating the exact same talking points:
She'll say: "Being Ace is so unrelatable to me though. I can't imagine what it's like."
I'll reply: "Okay, I'm happy to share what it's like. In fact, I enjoy educating others about it."
She replies: "Maybe. But I just find it so unrelatable."
We repeat this exchange several times and it becomes obvious that, despite initially saying she found it intriguing, she doesn't really. Basically I was just a zoo exhibit for someone who didn't really want to learn anything.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? An allo finds the concept of Asexuality "exotic" and approaches you claiming they want to learn more about it, except they don't really?
