I just found this sub for the first time via a reddit rabbit hole. I’ve looked at a couple of pages of posts, and I identify as asexual, but I have no idea if that is even true/accurate. I definitely am not familiar with all of the terminologies being used in this sub.
So, I am 43, male, straight, single/never married, no kids (and don’t want any). I have seen many descriptions in this sub about what asexuality is, many of which conflict with one another. So, I can only tell you what it is to me. I have no interest in sexual intercourse. In literally every other way, I am very pro-sexuality. I have next to no libido, I do not get aroused easily (I think I may be demisexual and/or demiromantic). However, I love cuddling, kissing (though I can also do without), and playing/messing around. I simply have no desire to have traditional, penetrative sex with anyone. I have mo idea if lacking that one individual desire truly qualifies me as ace or not. I have always thought I would do well with someone hypersexual, so long as they do not desire/require intercourse.
Anyway. I am your typical nerd/geek hybrid. I have been into video games my whole life, I love movies and TV, I collect various things, and I love to build LEGO sets. I am a big Marvel fan, and don’t care about, or in some cases, actively dislike DC. I try to keep up with new technologies, get a new phone or iPad every couple years, stay current. I am very liberal, and immerse myself in lots of political content, but am not actively engaged. I have all of the video game systems, but do not play on PC. I can hold my own in conversations about just about anything.
As for what I am looking for, I am open to whatever I may find. I would prefer something ongoing, or long term, but am okay with short term, or FWB type stuff. I would like to find someone within an hour or two of me, I am not really the biggest fan of LDR, only because I would lack the means to ever travel to meet someone. I am equally cool with meeting new ace friends, but will state up front that I truly suck at maintaining online-only relationships and friendships. I am someone that hangs out with friends all the time, and I really crave that real life interaction. I hope that is enough info.
