Dating as an asexual is great, but you already know that. Shooting my shot again, with a picture this time!
About me: Iām single, polyam, bi-romantic demi/ace looking for a long-term relationship. I know itās not something you wave a wand and make happenāand I personally hate my to rush things, but I ask anyone replying to this post to be open to that. The perfect scenario would be something starting as friendship and progressing into a romantic partnership.
Iām okay with an LDR as long as itās manageable to meet in person and eventually close the gap when it feels right. Dating locally proved to be hard given a pretty conservative environment. (And me brutally failing at socializing if we are being honest.) When people find out Iām non-monogamous, they assume Iām wanting a fwb situation. Being ace and autistic on top of that, well, you know. I donāt fall in love often, and I hope itās out there for me, beautiful, vulnerable, and terrifying at times.
On asexuality: I donāt usually experience sexual attraction towards people, but Iām somewhere between sex-neutral and sex-favorable. This means sex can be cool and fun, although definitely not the key element in the relationship for me, and Iām fine with it not being a part of it at all.
Something we can bond over:
ā¢ Games. Iāve recently finished modding Morrowind into something more fast and stable yet vanilla-friendly, and god it still feels great! I love story-rich and text-based tittles as much as silly little games with unusual mechanics. Some of the games Iāve recently enjoyed: Roadwarden, Pentiment, Inscryption, Kingdom New Lands/Two Crowns, Stardew Valley, 80 Days, Astrologaster, Stacklands. In a love-hate relationship with the Sims series, mostly hating on Sims 4 and getting back to Sims 2 over and over again.
ā¢ Neurodivergency. Iāve been recently diagnosed with autism and strongly suspecting an accompanying ADHD. Most of my irl-friends are also autistic, and I noticed that I click with ND folks way more often.
ā¢ Books. Iāve read 50 books last year but donāt really have a favourite author or genre. Itās been more of an experiment to read as I used to as a teen, going blindly based on random recommendations or picking a book with a cool looking cover. I love memoirs, non-fiction that dives into some very specific topic, and sci-fi.
ā¢ Languages. I speak Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, obviously English, and just started learning German. Random linguistics/translation/etymology facts fascinate me, and if I happen to have a crush on you, Iāll probably start frantically learning your language way too soon. Some more interests: true crime, musicals, houseplants, dogs.
About you: when it comes to attraction, Iām more often driven to soft masculinity regardless of gender. Height/weight doesnāt matter, but Iād prefer if you date solo (not as a pre-existing couple looking for a third) and have no kids.
Dealbreakers: people who say they are ādrama-freeā and ādonāt take themselves too seriouslyā. Someone whoās not interested in politics or holds conservative beliefs; has an extremely NSFW profile; is a poor communicator and generally has a hard time being vulnerable. Iām looking for people not way too older or younger than me, somewhere in the 25-35 yo window.
Please introduce yourself with something more than āhiā, and let me know which part of the post resonated with you. Iād appreciate a picture, too, because got Iām sweating putting mine on Reddit.
And thatās all, thank you for reading!
