Am I alone on this? Are PRs on alter-g treadmills bullshit? Now, I'm not talking about losing a few pounds to take the pressure off. I'm talking about with little weight. Running where you lose over 100 pounds.
Now I realize there is an argument that for an elite to run very fast, say under 2:15, that pace on a VERY light setting is quite hard on the lungs. But for moderately fast and slower, it's basically a gravity assisted cruise. These treadmills are designed for people to BQ as easily as possible.
I know guys who cut chunks of time off their marathon after failing to BQ at Boston by finding one of these treadmills. When I see a big PR on Strava and then click on the entry and see the gravity profile, I think it's not a true PR. It's like running a downhill marathon.
