What

For those of you living under a rock, the Diamond League is a series of track meets through the summer that draws all our favorite athletes to at least a few of them. Since there are so many meets not all athletes will participate in all of them, but the field athletes seem to be in every one.

When

There's about 4 meets a month from May through August. (Calendar). The first meet is in Doha tomorrow at around noon.

Who

In Doha we're going to see:

Elaine Thompson vs Dafne Schippers (100m)
Andre De Grasse vs Noah Lyles (200m)
Americans vs each other (100m hurdles)
Caster Semenya vs Does It Even Matter (1500m!)
Jenny Simpson vs my heart (3000m)
A whole bunch of field athletes that I have no idea who they are.

How

NBC Sports should show some coverage, but it's your typical NBC feed -- the 5000m has nothing interesting between the gun and bell lap, sprints are the most important event and we should watch every heat instead of watching Lavillenie set a World Record, we don't need picture-in-picture because I'm interested in leasing a Chevy, the standard stuff.

NBC Sports Gold has a T&F package for $70 that lets you watch raw feeds without commercials. I would never suggest anything illicit, but before you buy it you should know they have a bug in their feeds where you can watch from unlimited screens under one account. It's such a shame, they should really fix that.

Fantasy Diamond League

The most important part of this post. We have an ARTC league on www.fantasydiamondleague.com . (League name: ARTC, Pin: 3073731).

The site is terrible (and it doesn't use https so use a password you don't care about), but basically before each meet you pick 4-5 women and 4-5 men competing in the upcoming meet, and one captain, and get points depending on how they do in the meet. Truthfully you can probably win our league if you remember to make transfers before every meet, because inevitably everyone will forget one, but in theory if you win against the whole site, you get real life prizes. In theory.
