Today we have /u/RunTwoThreeClimb, if they are late to respond it's entirely my fault as I forgot to message them earlier about their interview coming up today.
How/when did you start running?
Summer 2012 as a way to lose a load of weight I'd piled on, but then I was sporadic with getting out and doing it, and was only bitten by the bug in 2014. So I'd probably say 2014.
What are your PRs?
5km 26:27, 10km 56:47, Half Marathon 2:08. Nothing hugely spectacular.
Favourite shoes to train or race in?
I'm a big fan of the Brooks Ghost series, but currently alternating those with a couple of pairs of Adidas Supernovas - so springy!
What's your next race?
Nothing in the diary yet as my new job has been very full on since I started last summer, I have a bike event in September, but have my eye on a few local races in the spring and summer. Mostly 10ks and halves.
What is your favourite distance to race and why?
I really enjoy 10ks. Long enough to get fully into the groove but short enough to not need to bother with nutrition or hydration. Just run.
What are your goals this year?
I fell off the wagon last year with the new job so my main goals are to get back into lunchtime running again and re-gain my former fitness (and shed those desk-lunch lbs I've gained)
Proudest running accomplishment?
Going nicely sub-30 minutes in the JPMorgan Corporate Challenge, it was over 30 degrees (c) on race day and everyone was melting.
What do you do outside of running?
I like to cycle, rock climb and lift from time to time.
What other hobbies/interests do you have?
I love hiking with my dogs (editor's note: we need dog pics), geocaching, and generally being outside.
What is your favourite route/place to run?
I work in Central London, so I'm really lucky to have had all the Royal Parks near by. I'd say Hyde Park is my favourite place (I've spammed /r/runningroutes with a most of that place I think.)
Do you have a favourite run/race that you’ve ever done?
In the same thread as above, The Royal Parks Half Marathon is definitely a race that needs to be done once. Flat, great crowds and really pretty route.
If you could run anywhere in the world with anyone in the world, alive or dead, where would you run and who would you run with?
Without sounding too stalkery, a few people from here actually. Shoes, ChickenSedan, P4ndaDuck, Catzerz and RunRoarDinosaur to name a few. Mostly the US guys. I'd love to attempt to keep up with them around the Fjords of Norway.
What do you think has been the greatest contributor to your success in running?
Getting out of my own head. I had a real block when I started that I "couldn't run" or I "couldn't possibly go more than 5km" I had a co-worker in my old job who really helped me past that.
What is your favourite post long run food?
It's got to be pizza.
If you had a year to train, with no other distractions, how fast do you think you could get?
I'd train for a full marathon, I think with good training and nutrition and all that jazz I could go sub 4 hours. I'm not sure if I could BQ... Yeah, I just Googled that: 3.35 (female 18-34) that would be a BIG ask, but I'd love to work towards it. Although in a few short years I'll be in the next age group up, so that buys me an extra 5 minutes!
Favourite subreddits?
Goes without saying /r/artc, I also spend a lot of time on /r/xxfitness, /r/runningroutes, /r/bicycling and /r/london
Origin of your username?
I like those "mash a load of similar sounding words into a name and tailor them to your interests"
Strava link if you use it?
I do not, maybe I should...
