In a bit of a pench this morning but here's another interview for you to all feast on.

How/when did you start running?

I was inspired when I was around 17/18 to take up running. I ran everyday for about two weeks then get ill/injured, lol. Other than that I've mainly used it to complement football (soccer) fitness. Started running March 2017 after discovering AR, and how you're actually supposed to do it. I.e. Not run as fast/far as you can every run. (Who knew?)

What are your PRs?

5k: 20:17, 10k: 46:24 (from my HM), Half: 95:10. (editor's note: race report was posted last night for this fresh PR.)

Favorite shoes to train or race in?

I bought my first pair of racing flats really: the adidas adizero boost's the first time I ran in them was Heaven!

What's your next race?

Marrakech Half Marathon on Jan 28.

What is your favorite distance to race and why?

I've grown fond of the 5k because of Parkrun. My endurance is pretty poor so I can it's nice to be able to hold my own at a distance that a lot of people run, plus Parkrun is just incredible. The 5k is short enough that I can give it everything and feel a sense of accomplishment but not long enough to warrant much of a rest. That and being able to try again if I screw up is pretty decent.

What are your goals this year?

Run 2,018 miles, cycle 5,000 miles, sub-90 HM, sub-19 5k, 2:15 standard duathlon (10k run/40k bike/5k run), PB this route, write 30 blog posts, get a 2:1 at Uni. (Have you guessed I'm a goal-orientated kinda guy?)

Proudest running accomplishment?

My Half PB. It was the culmination of six months training, I prepared really well, raced very strategically for my first time racing the distance (have completed a handful of HM's as a jog before), and finished the race with a great sense of achievement and pride. It was also an 18 minute PB which shocked a super fast running friend. :D

What do you do outside of running?

As in everyday life? I am at university as a mature student (lol) studying Creative Writing. I also work part-time at a bookshop which is so much fun!

What other hobbies/interests do you have?

Cycling is my first love (sorry, running), I occasionally play football, swim even more infrequently, and write a fair amount for myself, uni coursework, and also my blog (plug, plug, plug).

What is your favorite route/place to run?

I ran in Devon while on holiday this summer. That's been my favourite so far. Anywhere pretty, with good scenery, really.

Do you have a favorite run/race that you’ve ever done?

I ran the Great North Run as a charity entrant in 2011. Everybody should run the GNR, it is incredible. I've never experienced an atmosphere like it. I actually got a bit emotional toward the end which is not like me at all.

If you could run anywhere in the world with anyone in the world, alive or dead, where would you run and who would you run with?

I'd like to run along the seafront in my hometown with as many of my family as possible. Unfortunately none of my family are active and that makes me sad.

What do you think has been the greatest contributor to your success in running?

AR/ARTC. Seriously, if it wasn't for this community I wouldn't have achieved what I have so far. This time last year I had shin splints and was running 0mpw due to a frustrating cycling of a few runs, shin splints/injury, time off, etc.

What is your favorite post long run food?

Carbs for sure. My wife makes an incredible chicken and mushroom risotto. Pizza is good, too.

If you had a year to train, with no other distractions, how fast do you think you could get?

I think sub-18 in the 5k and 80 in the HM although I think I'd get bored of running serious volume, like some of you incredible lot!

Favorite subreddits?

r/bicycling, r/rabbits, r/triathlon, r/cricket

Origin of your username?

At the time of creation we had three pets: Penelope (female bunny), Chester (male bunny), and Pickle (cat).
