Upgrading from Hyper Go H16BM to Senton 550 - Worth the jump?
Post Body

Hey r/Arrma!

I've been loving my little Hyper Go H16BM brushless lately, especially after doing some mods. But the upgrade itch is hitting me again, and the Arrma Senton 550 Mega 2S has definitely caught my eye.

Here's the deal:

  • I'm having a blast with the handling and fun factor of the Hyper Go, but being a 1/16 scale car, it definitely has its limitations.
  • I'm specifically looking for a jump up in quality and upgradability for the long haul.

Now, the Senton 550 Mega seems like a whole new beast, but I'm wondering if it's the right call for me. Here's what I'm hoping to get:

  • Durability for more aggressive bashing, especially on streets.( jumps, light off-roading, and conquering some curbs!)
  • A platform that allows for future upgrades as my skills and interests grow.

Here's my concern:

Since I'm coming from a brushless setup in the Hyper Go, will the brushed 550 motor in the Senton feel like a downgrade in terms of speed and power? I'm interested in the upgradability and larger platform than outright speed, but I don't want to sacrifice too much fun.

For any Senton 550 Mega owners out there, especially those who might have come from a smaller brushless car:

  1. How does the Senton handle upgrades? Does it offer a good foundation for future brushless setups or other performance mods?
  2. Is the brushed motor enough for some light street bashing and messing around? (Even though I plan on a brushless upgrade eventually)

I've also heard rumors of a new Hyper Go release - the 10208 - coming out in October. Could this be a contender, or would the Senton still be the better choice for upgradability?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
