Can someone explain to me the best route to beginning college while AD, then switching to full time after my contract is up?

I’ve read conflicting reports on how to best utilize the benefits of both the Post 9/11 GI Bill and the Montgomery GI bill.
I see many saying I should wait to use my post 9/11 until after I’m out but I also would like to get a head start on my education. However I won’t do that at the expense of far better benefits after I’m out of the Army.
Also, I only signed for the post 9/11 GI Bill, maybe dumb in retrospect but it obviously may limit my options.
