So recently had a dog and pony show formal ceremony. I was checking everyone's uniforms and one soldier had both pockets looking pretty bulky. I asked her what was in her pockets her pc, and.... she replied tampons and other stuff.... oh uhhhhhhhhh can you take them out for the ceremony? She said no as I am a girl? I asked you need them for the next hour and half? She said yes im a girl. then said she could put them in her PC pocket so both pockets don't look bulky which worked for me.
Later I get pulled aside by my PL (female) and am told soldier felt uncomfortable by the interaction. It was unwarranted. I wouldn't ask the soldier the same question if it was a medical necessity they had to have.
Here's my hang up. Personally I don't think I am wrong for asking the question. The soldier didn't have to forward exactly what items were in there if she felt uncomfortable. 2nd if it was a medically deemed item that they would have to use during the ceremony. I would actually rather have them sit the ceremony out at that point? Would this be wrong? I'm looking at it as your not leaving the ceremony to change your tampon so why do you need it. Or can you just up and leave and claim that?
EDIT: If you had something you medically needed that you had to have that might need used during formation. Keep that soldier out not female. But yea Idk guess someone said epi pen and not keeping them out either.
Personally the soldier is one of my stronger ones that I rely on a lot so don't want to rock the boat to much but also this is the 2nd issue on something I've seen as a non issue in regard to a female but apparently has been. So I'm looking for a sticking point to go to against my PL. Your not going to like everything I do but that don't make it wrong.
Edit: first time psg here culture shock wow.
