Alarm didn't go off excuse
Post Body

What is your favorite thing to do when you get this excuse as a platoon sergeant or squad leader? I'm really not a huge stickler for this sort of stuff but sometimes we get hard show times and you just need to show up on time and ready. I got a soldier that showed up an hour late and said alarm clock didn't go off. I've literally never witnessed this to be true. I do not buy it. I've used my phone as an alarm clock my entire career (14 years) and it's never happened. I've snoozed my alarm or turned it off in a daze or forgot to set it but never has it just not went off like the software malfunctioned. Just own your mistake. I know I'm ranting.

I prefer for my corrective actions to be relevant and funny if they can be. I'm thinking about buying him three alarm clocks to set but that seems lame.

Any ideas?
