Professional Development threads?

Whatever happened to those? Recall, if you will, the ones where there would be a book or essay 'assigned' and a thread posted that month to discuss it's contents. I actually liked those. I think they'd be nice to have back. Even if people don't participate in large numbers for whatever reason, they can review the discussions and hopefully learn something and apply it to their actions as an O/NCO/soon-to-be-NCO/cadet-close-to-commission.

I can understand that there aren't an overwhelming number of military books/papers published that are good, let alone even worth reading, but maybe we can give it another go? Perhaps they don't even have to be strictly speaking military books or papers, but simply about the principles of professionalism and leadership?
