When I got back from HBL I learned that I just got orders to Korea. This was disconcerting to me because I would have to leave my partner for a whole year and that's really straining in me. We've known each other for about 5 years but didn't get involved romantically until early in 2023. It sucks because we were already in a semi long distance relationship, we liveed about a 6 hours drive apart and I would visit them on 4 day weekends. It already hurt that I couldn't see them everyday but now it'll be a whole year. In fact it may be more than a year because my DEROS date is 4 months before my ETS date. I talked about that with my PSG and he said I might just have to ETS from Korea. I also talked about signing a Dec statement but I was told to qualify my return date has to be after my ETS date. Any advice? Honestly, I'm kinda expecting "Other people have gone through it, you'll be ight" or "You got orders you're going, no question" but I want to hear what else is out there.
