Listen, here me out just throwing this thought out for shits, giggles, and opinions.
Im currently stationed at Fort Cavazos (Fort Hood) and Im currently on CQ. I understand CQ is supposed to monitor the security of the building for the soldiers and the property during the duty days and non duty days but the way the buildings here are designed there are more than one exit for the building so its not like CQ can keep track of everyone in the building to include visitors and soldiers. Secondly, there are two training rooms that are always available incase a soldier needs something during the day, plus the master keys are not stored at CQ anyway so you would need to contact SD anyway for when a soldier locks themselves out, so whats the point of this duty being 24hrs, it really should only cover the after hours of the duty day. Third, the barracks are modernized so all the soldiers room are accessible from the outside of the building so you can't track visitors or soldiers entering soldiers rooms at all hours of the day. Finally, Fort Cavazos had a budget set back then to renovate the barracks after years of funding but didn't have the budget to install CCTV cameras for the outside of the building and the main hallways of the building, which is ridiculous based on the loads amount of evidence and history of this installation in the past 5 years alone. Really I dont understand the point of a CQ in this building at all, just feels like its a waste of time for the Runner and NCO on shift at this point, especially since SD is five minutes away.
What are yalls thoughts?
