I know I'm pretty late to the party here but I just had to gush about how fantastic this game has been for me. The atmosphere, the gunplay, the variety of combat styles and intricate systems to support them, the story that (imo) perfectly hints at its depth without forcing it down your throat. *chef's kiss*
End of the day though it really was the gameplay that did it for me. It was satisfying mowing down mindless drones. It was satisfying tackling challenging boss fights and succeeding within a hair's margin. It was satisfying returning to those boss fights with better stats and skills and just mowing through them (deleting CEL with max-spec full melee build felt good). It was satisfying just controlling your AC. It all felt so well put together.
For context: tbh I hadn't played a mechanically challenging game in months. I've never played a FromSoft or Souls-like game. I'd only recently gotten into mecha (only picked up my new hobby of Gundam building maybe a month ago). So I'm probably rather biased here with just how much new there is here for me.
Regardless, this has been one of my favorite gaming experiences in the last few years. I am definitely happy I picked this game up.
PS: If anyone has any suggestions for lore videos or mechanics/game systems deep-dives, I'd love to hear em!
