After a long hiatus, the Fort Worth Astronomical Society is back to having limited in-person star parties at Tandy Hills Natural Area, just east of downtown Fort Worth. There will be club members there with telescopes to show the night sky, and will be doing their best to sanitize eyepieces in between groups of visitors. Gates open at 4:30pm on Saturday, and sunset is around 5:30pm with the change in daylight savings time.
For those who wish to stay home, I will also be doing a live virtual star party starting at 6:30pm and going on until I'm exhausted. It's been a while since I was able to do one, due to bad weather over the last several months on the good Saturday nights that weren't full moons.
This weekend, Venus will be low in the western sky just after sunset. We will be able to see Saturn and it's rings, Jupiter and the great red spot Neptune, and Uranus. The moon will dominate the southern sky, and later in the night we should be able to see Uranus and Pleiades rising in the east.
