Any advice for doing riddler challenges?

I keep constantly doing no hit runs, but somehow still not getting enough points for 3 star.
I did notice that I get points for pounding them when they're on the ground and eliminating them. But how else can I get more bonus points for 3 stars?
Also does it varry game to game? I'm currently focusing on arkham and im 30% of the way from 100%ing the game.
