As a response to all the "People in X league play like mouth breathers, at which point does solo queue become better?" posts, let me add to the circlejerk by introducing the anti-circlejerk.
You can only control one person in solo queue, yourself. Dropping one or even two divisions of a league is meaningless due to the high variance of teammates skill and cooperation. Know what your character can do to push advantages to give you the biggest chance of winning. This also ties into the role you play, know what your job is and do it well.
You can't prepick a role when queuing so you need to have at least some flexibility instead of instalocking Butterfly/Yorn (because it's always the fking butterfly and Yorn right guys?). Also understand that when you play an unusual hero (Violet jungle for example, while viable it's not the norm) your team will have little to no idea how to play around you, or simply don't care since they want to play the "normal" game. While not saying these people are right, you must understand the reality that this risk exists.
Salty people, teammates who throw, afkers, unskilled people, people picking champions they've never played before in ranked, it all happens in all ranks. Your league and division is a reflection of how good you are sure, but it's not a holy scripture and is to be taken as a guideline instead of a set rule. Play to get better and the stars will follow over time. Controlling your emotions and playing in a sub-optimal situation are part of your skillset as a player as well.
If you want to play with a high amount of teamplay, play in a team. When playing solo queue, focus on yourself and hope the rest does the same, that's all you can do and gives you the best chance to win.
Edit: Right after posting another idea popped up. Being a leader in solo queue (pinging, chatting, or whatever you can do to guide your team to objectives and such) is absolutely completely valid. Just keep in mind that some people won't care, notice, understand, or may disagree with your choice.
