How to read square wave pulses (software)?

Post Body
I have signals like these. I assumed a simple Serial read would work. But it says serial is not available.
Basically the default signal out of my sensor is 0V. When it detects something, it gives a pattern of pulses. And it’ll be detecting different things, so I want to be able to distinguish between different pulse “patterns”. What is the best way to do it?
Edit: Zoomed in signal
Edit2: I solved it. I am using pulseIn function. Getting a read on how long the pulses are high for.
