still new to this. bought this diy robot arm kit (snarm 1500?). are potentiometers necessary for servos?

so recently got this on a sale while ago as it looked neat and fun. LINK

Going through some of the online guides on assembling it, I came across a point where the user sets up FOUR potentiometers on a breadboard. Now, I only have one of those arduino beginner kits which only came with one potentiometer! From my limited understanding I am not entirely sure if all 4 are needed? is 1 enough? or even none?!

I'm worried will I fry any components if I dont have as many potentiometers as the online guides use (is this reasoning wrong? potentiometer would control the speed of the servos right? with no potentio meter it would draw maximum current and maybe fry the arduino?)
