I’ve spent the last couple of days rewatching gigs from 2012-2014 (Glastonbury, Finsbury, Reading etc) and my god do I miss the times we didn’t have 8K video cameras in our phones. The gigs are just so much better. More energy, more singing and more of a connection between the band the audience.
The crowd is so much more engaged and therefore Alex is too. I understand the variables such as his age and the fact people change…but it’s genuinely very sad for live music as a whole.
This isn’t just YouTube I’m going off. I was at all of these gigs and have seen the band 5 times since the release of TBHC. The shoes really suck now in comparison.
