The biggest problem is really us Bylaws ,zoning laws and nimbys. Elevator costs are just a secondary cost in some cases caused directly by the bylaws I mentioned.

there are elevator mandates for A LOT of buildings that shouldn't need them at all. and for some reason they have to be huge. probably because of lobbying.
