I still lurk here from time to time, and man am I glad to be able to know that I have quit this cesspool of a game. Every single day there is a thread on whether or not someone new should play the game, and for the most part everyone agrees that there is no reason that anyone should play this game long-term.
Even the most die-hard players that I used to play with have quit. People that have literally spent thousands of dollars buying gear and other resources have quit; simply because their investment isn't paying off anymore. The investment that many high-level players have put into this game had a simple payoff, "A fun hobby." There was nothing more fun then to log in, and have a huge 10 galleon fight with hundreds of players fighting over DGS, or abyssal attack. Huge battles between massive clans and nations over red dragon; or even early on in the game, fighting small scale fights in Hasla over tokens.
This game was the best MMO I have ever played early on, and I have met some of the most awesome people, and friends that I think I will ever meet. But at the end of this all, the game has died... The most dedicated players have left, and all that is left are people too invested with real life money to quit, goldfarmers, or people that enjoy the small scale content that Archeage has to offer (ie: farming, trade runs).
I hate to see what this game has become. If only we had consistent and RELIABLE updates that brought fresh content, and balance to PVP throughout the years it would've been great.
Trion, you are the absolute worst game publishing company that I have ever associated with, and I hope that this is the last masterpiece of a video game that you ever have the opportunity to ruin.
