The Subreddit Album: How We'll Tackle This Beast and the First Poll
Post Body

We're going for it.

However, we'll be doing it a tiny bit differently than /r/Coldplay. Instead of having three polls (one for the intro, one for the outro, one for the general tracklist), we'll just have one, with all 60-some songs thrown in. I'm doing it this way because that opens us a lot more possibilities in terms of the tracklisting. I don't think we should shoehorn ourselves into using certain songs in a certain place just because that's were they lie on the studio albums.

In the interest of time, I've taken some liberties with what is and isn't on the tracklisting:

  • there is only one "No Cars Go" option. If it's selected, we'll deal with which version to use when the time comes. The same goes with "Wasted Hours".
  • "Culture War" and "Speaking in Tongues" are in the poll. The B-sides, "Cold Wind", "Abraham's Daughter", "Lenin", the LCD Soundsystem split single and the "Games Without Frontiers" cover are not.

Some further rules:

  • The poll will run until Saturday July 19, 2014 at 12:00 A.M. (GMT -5). This is because I will away from my computer Thursday and Friday and an one day time limit's too short.

  • Right now, the album will have 15 songs. The top 15 vote-getters will be on the tracklist. I want everything to be represented fairly, and 15 songs is a good length for that. Even if the album's length ends up making Reflektor seem short.

  • Everything will be represented. That is, there will be at least one song each from the EP, Funeral, Neon Bible, The Suburbs, and Reflektor. If nothing gets picked from any one of the five, we'll take the one with the highest amount of votes and put it in the song pool, so the album might end up having 16 songs.

  • Pick your fifteen favorite AF songs. If you don't like a really popular song, don't pick it. If you happen to like a unpopular song, pick it! It'll increase its chances of getting on the album.

  • No cheating. Actually pick fifteen.

Here's the poll! Have fun.

EDIT: Due to unforeseen limitations in the number of responses, the poll must be closed see this post for more info on what we're doing next.
