For context;
I know very little about how plants/ trees grow. I don’t even know what kind of tree this is. However it’s a beautiful tree, right in the centre of my front yard.. I’m wondering if there’s a safe way to tame this tree and trim it back so it doesn’t literally cover my house / cars in some sort of sap like substance as well as all the seeds and leaves it sheds during the early summer.
The story on the tree is 75 years ago they proposed cutting this tree down in a rail yard… the property owner at the time took it from down town Halifax and moved to my property in Enfield Nova Scotia (40 minutes away)
i purchased the property a little over 4 years ago and have done no real maintained to the tree as i worked in another province in the summers.
My end goal is to trim the tree down and keep it healthy for years to come!
Thanks for any help..
