Question on fruit trees

My freind has a Asian pear, quite prolific and amazingly sweet fruit, he asked for some help taking and rooting some branches needing trimming anyway, also to have more of this tree.
Is it just like I would a normal apple or pear? Or anything special becouse it's a Asian pear?
Before I go and screw her up, or he does. I've cloned many other plants and trees. But never a Asian pear.
