I have a huge Elm Tree on the uphill side of my property and I noticed little cracks in the ground on the uphill side of about three or four inches away from the roots as if the tree had come loose and push the ground up just a little bit. So I took my rake turned it upside down and started poking the ground around it. Near the front of the tree and the base of the roots, the handle of the rake sank in at least a good 12 in many many spots. Now I don't know if this is saying that there's a problem and the tree is somehow potentially coming off it's Moorings and falling onto my roof? I have had a groundhog living in the yard last year for quite a while. It could be that maybe I'm poking around it's tunnel and that's why the ground is soft? I'm going to send a few pictures and a video. Any serious help as to what could cause this and if it's something that may cause the tree to fall, I would need to take care of it immediately. Thanks so much everyone
