Hey folks,
I'm hoping the BoreBuddy folks can respond directly, as they appear to be stand-up folks who aren't trying to sell every single accessory possible, but if anyone has had success with this kind of setup I'd love to get your advice.
I'm looking to get a super safe AR-22 build going, I already have the CMMG bolt conversion and a super safe trip kit. I've shot about 700 rounds of CCI 40gr Mini-mags through the upper already no problem with a normal safety. It's a 20" BA 1:7 twist, the accuracy isn't amazing of course but I don't really care, the .22 conversion will be used for cheap plinking and (hopefully) super safe fun that doesn't cost me $15 per mag.
I don't know how much the 20" barrel messes with things, I haven't seen a lot of reliability anecdotes with a longer barrel. I know I'll need the Gen4 adjustable bolt weight, of course. I'm also assuming a pressure plug and a 3-pack of buffers are a no-brainer. I'm just curious what other stuff I should just get right off the bat because I'm likely to need them to get the gun running correctly. The stuff I'm on the fence about includes:
- Recoil springs? (I'm assuming this is the only way to adjust the cyclic rate)
- Different firing pin springs and/or hammer springs?
TIA
