Recomendations for a good affordable rifle to run in classes.

Hello Reddit, I've built a few ar's and owned and shot plenty more. But to fuel my boredom, what do y'all think would be a good middle of the road affordable rifle to run in carbine classes? I suppose part two of this question would have to be, does the make of the actual stripped lower and upper even really matter? Let me know what you think.
