I posted about picking this barrel up from PA last week for $26. It arrived today.
This is the barrel (although the price has jumped to $104): https://www.primaryarms.com/precision-defense-556-nato-ar15-barrel-mid-length-nitride-13-7in
On the initial inspection I found no major concerns. Feed ramps look pretty good, barrel extension seems to be NIB coated or at least looks like it. Rifling is clean, and the crown is as well. The dimple for the gas block is quite deep but appears to be aligned with the gas port.
The profile is heavier compared to my SOLGW 13.7 barrel. A 5/64 drill bit fits inside the gas port with a little bit of wiggle so Iām thinking the port size is around .077-.080 which seems to be in line with other 13.7 barrels.
My dead air flash hider threaded on just fine and was concentric with my Sierra 5.
Not really sure what I want to do with this yet, probably build it into a beater upper just to have around. I will at some point function test and try to shoot some groups with it, although I can only shoot to 50 yards at the moment. More to follow.
