I have an older refrigerator, probably over 20 years. The pump for the ice maker and water system is mounted right next to the compressor. So the heat in that area is high. Well the polyurethane lines that run to the refrigerator and to the ice machine constantly bake in that area. And then the crack and make a mess. I’ve replaced the lines completely once. Only to have them crack again in under a year. The tubing becomes hard and brittle. Is there a different type of tubing I could be using? One more heat resistant? Not sure if I could switch to braided steel tubing. Because the fittings on the pump are plastic. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
