A few days ago I posted that my Maytag stacked dryer was leaving clothes very wet. I opened up the front panel and saw that the dryer flame would only go on for a few seconds and then shut off. I ended up replacing the coils which seemed to do the trick for about 2 days, The dryer was working and clothes were nice and dry.
A few days later, front panel still open, I ended up bumping into the flame sensor with my elbow but didn't think anything of it. Now, of course, the dryer is back to only flaming for a bit and then abruptly shutting off. I really don't think the bump caused it, but I guess it's possible.
I ordered a cheap knock off flame sensor from Amazon and just installed it yesterday, but the dryer is still not working properly, flame keeps shutting off.
At this point I am very frustrated and ready to call in appliance repair company but I figure I will give it one last shot.
What other parts could be bad? I've heard the thermal fuse, but I have no idea how to check that.
What are the chances the brand new flame sensor is bad? I'm thinking of ordering a genuine Maytag flame sensor but I'm highly doubting that's going to fix the issue.
