fuck this phone, randomly went into data recovery and made me lose some 3 months of data including some of precious last moments withh my friends and my relative who I just lost. FUck you fuckers (for context, before anyone assumes: it was an iphone 13 with 200gb icloub storage bought and automatic updates ON, happened after I did a software update)
If I pay substantially more for both the phone and storage to a trillion dollar company, I am bound to expect better. No fucking point of having a good camera if this is how shitty the recovery systems are in case shit like this happens. Also, have never heard anyone with an android suffering from abs loser problems like this.
Dude I feel you. I had an Iphone 4 in 2010 and upgraded to a 5 in 2012, had a MacBook pro, the whole shebang. This is when I was 18-21 years old. I had a psycho ex who used my icloud password to remote wipe all my devices, no getting it back, not even the time machine thing could bring back my data. I lost thousands of photos, videos, garage band songs me and my friends made, photo booth silly moments, etc. An entire section of my youth erased from existence. I switched to android and keep hard copies of EVERYTHING now. Fuck cloud services.
Not with modern 2FA, which didn't exist back then.
Bruh, up until less than a year ago you couldn't connect a storage device to an iPhone or iPad and move files around. I've been doing this on Android for more than ten years.

The psychos have come and gone, but my data has been safe ever since.
