How do I transfer music files from my MacBook pro to my iPhone 13

Hi all. In the past I would have always just connected the two devises using the cable. But it appears my old MacBook running 10.10.5 doesn't seem to recognise the phone doing this.

I'm now trying with Airdrop which seems to work fine except that my phone doesn't seem to realise they are music files. It doesn't give me the option to add them to the Music Library and instead only give me the option to add to GarageBand or similar apps, which doesn't make sense.

Am I missing something here or doing somthing wrong? Any help would be very much appreciated as I am missing having music to listen to on my walks at the moment.
