Post Body

Hi, I've been experiencing a weird issue ever since upgrade to Big Sur. My camera on my MacBook Pro doesn't actually display an image in FaceTime/Zoom/Photo Booth although the green light does turn on (and eventually shuts off).

I went through an SMC reset, hardware diagnostic, NVRAM reset, Safe Boot, test user, and reinstalling Big Sur before support told me to take my machine in for a Genius Bar appt (presumably for repair). I also just tried killing the VDCAssistant process and starting up a camera app - didn't work either.

Two questions:

  1. how long does the camera replacement typically take?
  2. is my problem software-related i.e. should I downgrade?
