Macbook(1,1) won't boot from Mac OS install disk.
Post Body

I have a black Macbook 1,1 model, I replaced the original SATA hard drive with a WD 500GB drive. Well I tried several different install discs (all DVD isos, 10.4 to 10.6 retail and Macbook specific isos) some just sit at a blank grey screen, others show the apple logo, the circle underneath and the disc spins, then after 30 seconds to a minute it just spits out the disc.

Now, I read up about it and it sounded like the optical drive was intermittently cutting out, but this is when I decided to try a Ubuntu 10.10 install disc. Well, setup completed without issue and the Macbook runs flawlessly under Ubuntu 11.04. Which tells me something else is happening.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd really like to run 10.5 atleast on this thing.
