My keyboard stops working at times.

I have a 2012 13-inch MacBook Pro, and I just got Mavericks yesterday. I was going to type something, and none of the letter keys responded. The trackpad and special keys were fine, and the only thing I could do was restart my laptop because I couldn't even log myself back in from sleep, because the Return key wasn't working either.
This happened once more before posting, has anyone else experienced anything like this? Any help would be appreciated.
