Blocked but still getting texts

My ex and I broke up 3 months ago. I blocked him a couple weeks after that. I’ve since never unblocked- he’s remained blocked, however, I am still getting texts from him.

I don’t get a ping about receiving a text from him nor does the message have the dot on the right of the (unread) message.

I only noticed them because I was scrolling through older messages and noticed the last message he sent wasn’t the last conversation we had.

By the time I noticed the texts they were old, a month .

He’s messaged me a handful of times. Nothing that makes me uneasy necessarily just annoying.

Any idea why this is happening?
