Apps reloading/refreshing every time active app is changed or device is locked/idle - iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 16.6

Post Body

As stated in the title, I am using an iPhone 12 Pro Max, running iOS 16.6. I have noticed recently that very frequently when switching from one app to another, the app that is brought into focus will refresh all data and reload to the Home Screen or whatever the app’s “home” and/or “idle” state is. This means that you will lose your place and will lose any progress on any text input. The frequency at which this is happening is much more often than this has ever happened in my 10-12 years of using an iPhone.

For example, if typing a post or comment on the Reddit app, and switch to Google Chrome to search for information, the Reddit app will reload and return back to the home feed when the app is brought back into focus. Thus meaning that all progress on the post/comment is lost, and I will have to navigate back to my place and start over on typing my post/comment. It is happening with all apps, and is especially frustrating for apps or websites where you have to login every time the app reloads. It’s really frustrating with web browsers (Chrome or Safari) where you’re logged into websites.

ETA: My wife has noticed the same issue on her iPhone 11 that is running iOS 16.6.
